Proofreading

Now that your book is beautiful on the outside, let’s make sure it’s beautiful on the inside! I’ll give it one last once-over to check for any rogue typos that snuck through your editing process.

Amazon Upload

Here comes that tech stuff you’ve been pushing out of your mind! We’ll hop on a call together and I’ll help you get your manuscript loaded up for publication through Amazon KDP. No mess, no stress—I’ll guide you through what you’re clicking and why.

Step 4

Bestseller Campaign

Let’s get one thing straight: hitting bestseller on Amazon is pretty darn meaningless. But, well, it’s also pretty darn cool! So let’s get you that banner and those bragging rights.

Am I at the right stage of my publishing process for this package?

This package is for authors who are totally ready to publish, ASAP. This means that you’ve finished writing, you’re in love with your text (or at least, in major like), and you’ve gone through all of the edits you plan to make.

Not quite done with your edits? Just finished your draft, and don’t know where to go next? You’re looking for my editing packages—which include publishing too! I like to make it easy for ya. ?

Okay, so, when you say "ASAP"...how long is that?

This package is designed to get your book out in between 2 weeks and 2 months from the time your manuscript lands in my inbox. It all depends on you!

If you’re a compulsive planner pro-schedule like me, check out this sample schedule for an idea of what our time together will look like:

DAY 1: Submit your final manuscript for proofreading and formatting! Fill out the handy dandy formatting questionnaire to let me know what you’d like your final book to look like.
DAYS 2–8: Wait! That’s right, this is your time to sit back and relax while I do the hard work of formatting and proofreading your book for ya. Not great at killing time? This is a great time to start looking for a cover designer (or working on a cover design yourself) and planning your launch!
DAYS 9–14: Review and approve your formatted, proofread manuscript! This should be a SUPER easy process, but I like to give you a few days to do this because, well, life happens, eh?
DAY 14: Manuscript approved? It’s time to pick out your launch date and set up your KDP upload call!
THREE…DAYS…LATER…: (Or more, if you’re running a preorder campaign. Don’t worry, we’ll chat about this.) Your book is published! CONGRATULATIONS! CELEBRATE!
LAUNCH DAY: Your bestseller campaign! Woot woot!
THE ENTIRE REST OF TIME: You’re an author! Brag!!!

What if I'm still editing right now, or find more edits to make after I submit my manuscript?

This package is designed for finished, edited manuscripts. I assume that your submitted manuscript is final, and in my proofread I am only checking for outright typos/errors or confusing language. Making bigger changes than those to a formatted manuscript is a huge pain for both you AND me.

Because of that, I do charge a change fee for any author-generated edits after the manuscript has been submitted. This fee is a flat rate of $35 per hour for smaller changes (1-hour minimum), $200 for any changes requiring re-formatting. I never, ever want to charge this fee, so do us both a favor and make sure your manuscript is READY-ready when you send it my way! I’ll still be here when you finish, and I know you’re worth the wait. ?

Again, if you need more editing than that, my editing package is a better fit for you!

Are there limits to how long/short my book can be?

For this package, I work with books between 10,000 and 110,000 words. Shorter or longer projects just have different needs!

I already know what day I want to launch my book. Can you work with that date?

At this time, yes, my schedule is open and I’m glad to work with any launch date more than two weeks away! I always reserve a full week for proofreads and formatting, but authors who are dedicated to reviewing and approving their final manuscripts quickly find that they’re able to finish the rest of the process in just a few days.

Please just inform me of your desired publication date when making your purchase!

Do you have a refund policy?

Nope! I work with authors who are 100% committed to launching their books, and to make that happen you need skin in the game. Once a manuscript has been submitted, I do not offer refunds—but don’t worry, you have six months from your date of purchase to make use of your services.

What if I XXX? Will it still work?

Just ask! My free discovery calls are a great time to figure out which of my programs or packages is right for you. I’d always love to chat! ?

Do you offer sample edits?

Yessiree! I provide sample edits upon request. For publishing packages, that would specifically be a sample of my proofreading style.

I have two sample edit options:

1. FREE sample edit: send me your whole manuscript and I’ll randomly choose 1,000 words to edit and send back to you. This gives me the best sense of your manuscript, so it’s always what I recommend!

2. PAID sample edit: looking for an edit of a specific section? I’ll edit up to 3,000 words at $.02/word. If you decide to work with me further, that fee will be subtracted from your total owed!

I always recommend the first option, since it tends to be more representative of how we’ll work together and, well, it’s free!

I plan on a seven-day turnaround time for sample edits, but if you’re working on a crunch and are looking for something more quickly, just let me know! ?
